Betty Lou Medler, 89, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024 at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by Dayton “Bud” Newcomb and James “Tobey” Medler; parents French and Pauline Costello; children David Craig Medler, Anna Coker, Christine Sanders, and Michael Newcomb; granddaughter, Davida Colonna; sisters, Sylvia Jean Costello, Joyce Ware, and Wanda Finley; and brothers, Junior Costello, John Costello, and William Costello.

Betty is survived by brothers Richard (Patsy) Costello and William Peterson; sister, Mary Russell; children Richard (Carol) Medler, Dino (Beth) Medler, and Deana (Earl) Schneringer, and grandchildren Gloria Colonna, Christopher (Tailor) Ballenger, David Alan Medler, Courtney Medler, Dawson (Megan) Schneringer, and Brayden Schneringer, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

After moving to Missouri in 1997, Betty became a member of Park Crest Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri.

A Celebration of Life service will take place this summer in Florence, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Park Crest Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri.
