John “Frank” Rountree Jr, 71 of Republic, passed away on April 26, 2022.

After graduating from Monett High School in 1968, he went on to a career with the Frisco / BNSF Railroad for 30 years. After retiring in 2000, Frank enjoyed his time working on race cars with Brad Looney Racing. He enjoyed late evenings working on the car and weekends at the races. When he wasn’t working on race cars he enjoyed time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Moore and her husband, Scott; his son, Neil Rountree and wife, Jennifer; his grandsons, Patch Clay, Miller Rountree, and Rush Rountree; sister, Mary Ball and her husband, David; niece, Sydney Ball and her fiancé, Brent Powers; nephew Austin Ball and his partner, Jamie Hedrick; along with a host of cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Wise Hill Cemetery, in Clever, Missouri.

Open visitation will be held from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, 2001 W. Walnut Lawn St., in Springfield, Missouri.

His care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory.
