Charles (Chuck) William Ward, 76 of Cape Fair, known affectionately by his friends as CW, passed away unexpectedly at home with his loving wife by his side on May 10th, 2022.

In January 1963 he enlisted with the Marines where he went on to serve in Vietnam in 1965. During his service, he was awarded two Purple Hearts. Chuck Ward also earned multiple medals including the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. On returning home he found a calling in Commercial Construction. Chuck was well known for his ability to tell a good joke or story.

CW is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Carol; his step-children Mechelle Tabor, Brian Martin, Geoff Martin, and Chris Martin; Nephews and Nieces Ken Nobles and Lauri Green; grandchildren and many close friends and fellow Veterans.

A Celebration of Chuck’s life will take place Tuesday, May 17th at First Baptist Church of Elsey, 36534 MO-413, Crane, MO 65633.

There will be a short viewing at 9:30 am with Service to begin at 10:00 am.

Graveside service will take place at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, MO at 1pm in which he will be buried with full Military Honors.

Funeral Services are provided by Greenlawn East Funeral Home in Springfield, MO.
