Shirley Jeanne (Roth) Eckert, 95 of Springfield, peacefully passed from this life to her heavenly home on Wednesday evening, April 27, 2022.

She received her Registered Nurse training through the United States Navy Nurses Corp in the 1940’s. Shirley married the love of her life, Dr. Robert Winston Eckert. Dr. Eckert had a medical and surgical practice in Los Angeles, CA, where Shirley was his surgical nurse and later his office manager until their retirement to the Ozarks in 1977. She was a member of Crescent Chapter #21 Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the White Shrine as well as Order of True Kindred serving as officers in both local and state chapters of these organizations.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Jeanne Eckert Hodgson; a son, Robert W. Eckert II and his wife, Debbie; a grandson, Robert W. Eckert III all of Springfield, MO, and two granddaughters, Emily Jeanne (Miller) Pereira and her husband, Ryan, of Annandale, VA, and Dr. Sarah Jeanne Miller of Cockeysville, MD.

No formal funeral service is planned. Arrangments are being made by Greenlawn Funeral Home.
