A Springfield man was killed April 16 after a vehicle crash in the western part of town.

Police responded at 7:38 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Sunshine Street and Scenic Avenue, answering reports of a two-vehicle crash. The collision resulted in the death of Jordan Oswalt, 29, of Springfield, according to a report from the Springfield Police Department.

Oswalt was driving northbound on Scenic in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to the report. At the intersection of Sunshine Street, his vehicle collided with a Honda Odyssey van traveling westbound on Sunshine, driven by Mischelle Moore, 55, of Rocky Comfort.

Oswalt was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the collision, according to the report. He was transported to a Springfield hospital, where he died.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the crash. It marks the city’s seventh fatal vehicle crash for 2024.
