According to the Highway Patrol, Barnes took the three children from their home in an apartment complex on the 900 block of West Battlefield Road during an unsupervised visit. Barnes and Beverly were last seen in a black SUV with no license plates; they were living near the Walmart at 2021 E. Independence St.

The state has orders to take the children into custody. Barnes is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, white and 130 pounds. She has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information relating to their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810.
