The community is invited to attend an upcoming session to discuss regionalism — the concept of how communities, businesses and organizations in southwest Missouri can work together on making the area a better place to live, grow and thrive.

The community conversation, co-hosted by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and Hauxeda, is set for July 19.

The community conversation on regionalism is free to attend, but registration is required as space is limited. Register here.

The regionalism effort is being led by a new group called LORE, Leaders for Ozarks Region Evolvement. The organization is creating a regional, unified approach to developing a brand for the area and to focus on workforce attraction and quality of life. LORE's vision is to bring about “transformative change over the next twenty years, effectively writing the future for our community.”

At the event from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 19, David Stoeffler, president and CEO of the Daily Citizen, will moderate a panel to discuss the efforts to unite public and private efforts. Panelists include:

  • Dean Thompson, Executive Director of Regionalism & Economic Development, Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Erin Danastasio, Executive Director of the Hatch Foundation
  • David Cameron, City Administrator of the City of Republic
  • Lisa Rau, Director of Communications & Public Information, City of Branson
  • Clay Goddard, President, Southwest Region of Burrell Behavioral Health
