Friday, Saturday and Sunday all feature a high in the triple digits. The heat can make many residents want to stay inside with the air conditioning on full blast, binging the latest season of “Stranger Things.”

However, there are many indoor events going on this weekend that could be equally appealing.

High School Musical Jr.

Watch the Springfield Little Theatre put on “High School Musical Jr.” at the Landers Theatre on Friday and Saturday. Enjoy this local take on an early 2000s Disney classic. 

Tickets are $15 per adult with special rates for seniors, children and large groups. There are multiple afternoon showings on both days. GPS directions can be found here.

Heirloom Seed Library

Learn how to save tomato seeds from the Midtown Carnegie Library’s Heirloom Seed Library on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. GPS directions can be found here.

The Seed Library is a pay-it-forward system where seeds are kept by Springfield’s public libraries to provide members with access to healthy seeds at no cost.

SGF Art Exhibit

Spend a few hours this Sunday browsing the Springfield Art Museum’s latest exhibit called “Humanities, Vol. 1”.
