Absentee voting is available Saturday, July 30, in advance of the August primary in Greene County.
The Greene County Elections Center at 1126 North Boonville Avenue and the county clerk’s office in Room 113 of the Historic Courthouse will be open to absentee voting from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. If you wish to vote absentee, you’ll be required to bring a valid form of identification.
Voters will need to specify party preference in order to vote on partisan nominations for various county, state, and federal offices. Absentee ballots must be received in the Office of the County Clerk by 7 p.m. on Aug. 2 to be counted.
Absentee voting will also be available the day before the election, Monday, Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Greene County registered voters may request absentee ballots by downloading and printing the application, and returning it by email to absenteevoting@greenecountymo.gov or by mail to the Office of the County Clerk, 940 North Boonville Ave., Room 113, Springfield, MO 65802.
Absentee ballots, by Missouri law, may be cast when a voter will be absent from their registered voting district on the day of the election, when a voter is confined due to illness or disability or when a voter is the primary caregiving for a person incapacitated by illness or disability.
Voters may also get absentee ballots if a religious belief or practice will keep them from going to their polling place on the day of the election, when they are employed as an election official or authority at a place other than their assigned polling place, when a voter is incarcerated but still retains their right to vote, and when a voter is part of an address confidentiality program protected by law.
