Gov. Mike Parson announced on Friday, Sept. 9, two judicial appointments of Springfield lawyers.

Circuit Judge Becky J.W. Borthwick, of Springfield, was appointed to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Southern District.

Borthwick is a circuit judge in the 31st Judicial Circuit (Greene County). She was born in 1969 and earned her bachelor of arts in political science in 1991 from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her law degree in 1995 from the Oklahoma College of Law in Norman.

She will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Gary Lynch.

Parson also appointed Associate Judge Jerry A. Harmison Jr., of Springfield, to the 31st Judicial Circuit.

Harmison currently serves as associate circuit judge for the 31st circuit. He holds a bachelor of arts in business administration from Central Missouri State University and a Juris Doctor from Drake University.

Harmison will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Calvin R. Holden.
