Springfield police on Oct. 4 arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting a day prior that left a man with life-threatening injuries. The suspect is a juvenile whose name was not released by the Springfield Police Department.

On Oct. 3, police responded to an assault report near the McDonald's at 1717 West Battlefield Road. The victim was located close to the corner of South Meadowlark Avenue and West Battlefield. According to the Springfield News-Leader, witnesses said the victim was walking when the driver of a car stopped the vehicle and began arguing with him before shooting him and driving away. 

Springfield Police Department spokeswoman Cris Swaters said the shooting suspect and vehicle were both located by police on Tuesday.
