Text from our SGF Weekend email newsletter, written by Managing Editor Brittany Meiling

Good morning, my weekenders. Let's talk about coffee. Springfield loves its coffee — so much so that we've got a couple of coffee drive-thru spots that cause colorfully nicknamed traffic jams in the city.

Apparently, some folks at the city decided to lean into this love affair with a program that encourages shopping local, indie spots. Learn more about the Ozarks Coffee Trail in this Paul Cecchini story.

Speaking of shopping local, this story from Kaitlyn McConnell introduced me to Turners Station Mercantile — the oldest grocery store in Greene County. The family-owned business is hosting a community Halloween party full of old-fashioned fun. Activities include a cake walk, which apparently kids have never heard of these days! See what I mean in the story.

Don't miss our other weekend reads, including an Answer Man column from Steve Pokin and a musician profile by Jeff Kessinger.

Enjoy your Saturday, folks!
