I'm going to be honest with you guys... When Kaitlyn McConnell turned in this story about William “Coin” Harvey, I had no idea who he was. I'd also never heard of Monte Ne, which was once a “glittering” resort town in northwest Arkansas during the early 1900s.

Harvey made it his mission to construct a “pyramid” there that would outlast the downfall of civilization and serve as a time capsule for the human race. But a few weeks ago, that landmark was torn down. Of course, McConnell heard all about it and shares the tale in this latest Ozarks Alive deep dive.

Speaking of resorts (kind of), there's a huge RV show happening at the Ozarks Empire Fairgrounds this weekend. Over a hundred RVs are on the showing room floor, and people are traveling from all over to check them out.

In other news, people sort of freaked out over this new food hall coming to Nixa. A concept more commonly seen in big cities, the spot will include 10 restaurants and a family-friendly vibe. I can't wait to check it out.

In case you missed it, I wanted to call attention to this podcast we did with artist Julie Blackmon, whose truly evocative photography has drawn national acclaim. My favorite bit was when she described the backstory of this photo of a pregnant woman balancing life on a paddleboard. I deeply connected with her inspiration for this photo. Check out the podcast to hear more about her inspiration and her life in Springfield.
