A $50 million fundraising campaign for Drury University officially launched June 1, but officials are close to reaching the halfway point of the goal.

Set to coincide with Drury’s upcoming 150th anniversary in the fall, the Fortify the Future campaign will continue through the end of the spring 2027 semester, according to a news release from the university. Donors have committed about $24 million during a quiet campaign that began just less than a year ago.

The Fortify the Future campaign addresses four of Drury's priority areas:

  • Student scholarships and program support
  • Endowments for scholarships, professorships, program support, coaching positions and other opportunities
  • Updated living and learning spaces
  • Future campaign seed funding

“A group of our stalwart donors have stepped forward to make their early commitments and now the real work begins,” Marie Muhvic, executive vice president for university advancement, said in a news release. “We have set an ambitious fundraising goal, especially for Student Success, as our students are at the forefront of all we do. Last year, most Drury students received scholarships or financial aid and we aim to continue that momentum, providing opportunities for the brightest and most deserving students with scholarships and investments in high-demand programs.”

Drury will hold its 150th-anniversary event next fall, on Sept. 25. Donors who commit anywhere from $1.5 million to $1,500 between now and Sept. 25, 2024, will be honored via recognition on an “iconic landmark” on the campus. For more information, visit the Fortify the Future website.
