A 75-year-old man died and a 63-year-old woman was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon near Bois D’Arc.

According to the Highway Patrol crash report, Loren E. Crowder was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Missouri Highway 266 two miles south of Bois D’Arc at 2:20 p.m. The bike went off the right side of  the road, overturned, went airborne and struck a utility pole. 

Loren Crowder was pronounced dead at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. 

Kathryn L. Crowder, a passenger on the motorcycle, was transported to a CoxHealth hospital in Springfield with what the Highway Patrol described as serious injuries. 

This is Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D’s 59th fatality for 2023.
