School’s out. Alice Cooper is coming to Springfield.

Juanita K. Hammons Hall staff announced the legendary rocker with a raspy voice and a horror-inspired stage presence will play Springfield Aug. 15. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 23, at 10 a.m.

Cooper, 75, has a career that spans five decades. The Too Close for Comfort Tour features music rock fans from several generations should enjoy, plus a stage show featuring “electric chairs, guillotines, fake blood and boa constrictors,” according to the official concert announcement.

Cooper released the album “Detroit Stories” in 2021. According to a promotional press release, the album is inspired by “the garage rock music of Detroit,” from the 1960s.

Tickets start at $46, plus fees. Juanita K. Hammons Hall staff warns fans not to purchase tickets from websites other than HammonsHall.com or MissouriStateTix.com.

“Tickets sold online at any other web location may reflect inflated pricing and/or speculative seating options,” a press release states. “Juanita K. Hammons Hall cannot assume responsibility for unauthorized ticket purchases.”
