A man shot multiple times in northwest Springfield early Friday was in critical but stable condition at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Officers responded to an assault at 1114 N Heartland Ave. at 12:26 a.m. Friday, according Cris Swaters, spokeswoman for Springfield police.
The shooting is thought to be an isolated incident. No arrests have been made and police did not release the name of the person shot.
Police are investigating.
