Whataburger's third Springfield store will host a soft opening on Oct. 9, with a grand opening planned in the “coming weeks,” according to a company press release.

The new store, located at 401 N. Eastgate Ave., will open at 11 a.m. with drive-thru service only to start. Dine-in and other services, like online ordering and curbside delivery, will begin “in the coming weeks” following the grand opening, according to the release.

The new store will mark the third Springfield installment of the San Antonio-based burger chain, after its first restaurant opened in the Queen City just last year. The hometown hamburger chain now has a 14-state footprint with more than 950 locations, according to the release.

With 75 employees at its new location, Whataburger has created approximately 400 jobs in Springfield since the first store in the market launched in 2022, according to the release.
