A man involved in a motorcycle collision on Battlefield Road Oct. 19 was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to a Springfield Police Department statement.
Wayne Szenes, 27, was on a black 2006 Suzuki motorcycle with passenger Amanda Hultz, 27, when it collided with the driver's side of a white 2007 Pontiac G6 Oct. 19, according to the release.
All three individuals involved were transported to Springfield hospitals for their injuries. Szenes was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the statement.
Police officers responded to 210 W. Battlefield Rd. at 8:16 p.m. Oct. 19 regarding the motor vehicle crash. The investigation is ongoing as to the circumstances involved in the crash.
This marks the 23rd fatal motor vehicle crash in Springfield this year, according to the statement from the police department.
