A Springfield man pleaded guilty to first-degree rape of a victim less than 21 years old and first-degree child molestation Nov. 9, in a Greene County courtroom.

Sebastian Edward Mayhew, 20, was sentenced to 25 years in prison by Judge Jerry Harmison. Mayhew is in the Greene County Jail awaiting transportation to a Missouri Department of Corrections prison.

According to court documents, the child victim reported that the sexual abuse began when the victim was age 4, and the abuse continued for about five years.

As part of the plea agreement, two other rape charges against Mayhew were dismissed.
