Starting today (Tuesday, Nov. 28) the eastbound lane of Battlefield Road will close for one week at its intersection with Lone Pine Avenue for roughly one week, through Dec. 5.

The closure is for concrete panel repair and replacement, part of the Battlefield Corridor Improvement Project.

The work will also require the closure for one day — Tuesday, Nov. 28 — of the southbound portion of the intersection. This will prohibit eastbound traffic from turning right (southbound) onto Lone Pine and will prohibit westbound traffic from turning left (southbound) onto Lone Pine.

For this one day only, traffic southbound on Lone Pine will not be allowed to proceed through the intersection.

According to the Springfield Department of Public Works, access will be maintained to all businesses in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to seek an alternate route if possible.
