The south-Springfield Houlihan's restaurant on East Republic Road has closed after 12 years of operation at Farmers Park.

The Houlihan's on 2431 N. Glenstone Ave., at the DoubleTree Hotel, will remain open.

On Tuesday afternoon, there was a sign on the Houlihan's on Republic that read:

“We have regretfully decided to close our doors at this location effective immediately. We are incredibly thankful to our Team Members and loyal guests, and it's been a pleasure to serve South Springfield at this location over the last 12 years.”

The two Houlihan's in Springfield are owned and operated by franchisee O'Reilly Hospitality, of Springfield.

The notice on the door of the south Houlihan's further states:

“Houlihan's in North Springfield at the DoubleTree will remain open to serve our guests, to redeem gift cards, and provide the community Houlihan's into the future! We are currently exploring several options for this great location, and our plans are not yet finalized.”
