CoxHealth and Select Medical Corp. signed a joint agreement to build and operate a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in southwest Missouri, according to a joint-company press release.

The new facility is slated for opening in the fourth quarter of 2025 at a location that will be announced at a later date, according to the press release. The agreements are subject to regulatory approval.

CoxHealth will consolidate inpatient rehabilitation care at the Meyer Orthopedic Rehabilitation Hospital and acute rehabilitation at Cox Medical Center Branson with the Select Specialty Hospital-Springfield acute rehabilitation program, according to the press release.

“Our shared commitment to deliver an exceptional patient experience will allow Missourians to have access to best-in-class care across the full continuum so they may return to quality of life,” Tom Mullin, president of specialty hospitals at Select Medical, said in the press release.

Select Medical is one of the nation's largest post-acute care providers, according to the press release. Select Medical has operations in 46 states and the District of Columbia.
