A sidewalk sale? In January? Not to worry. This one takes place (mostly) indoors.

The annual Historic Commercial Street Indoor Sidewalk sale is scheduled for 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Jan. 27, with special sales and events planned up and down the block. The merchandise will be set up inside the stores, giving you a chance to warm up while you shop.

“Find great deals as your favorite businesses clear out stock to make room for more goodies,” a Historic C-Street press release said. “Plus, you can take a break from shopping to enjoy fine coffee, teas and specialty drinks, along with dining at restaurants you can only experience on Historic Commercial Street.”

White River Brewing Company, for example, will be hosting a Pop-Up Market with vendors like Love Crush Boutique, Iscape Candles, Edgy Soap Co. and Izmir Textiles. The brewery will offer drink specials and mimosa flights to shoppers.

11:11 Mission, a thrift store dedicated to helping veterans, is putting on a $4 Bag Sale, while The Coven Collective will have sales on health and beauty products, plus permanent jewelry. Head over to the Ozark Model Railroad Association to shop surplus train memorabilia, books, magazines and more, or check out the “Dig for Days” sale at Cymphony’s.

Other shopping options include:

  • Discounted party goods and floral merchandise at Serendipity
  • New and classic cleaning supplies and home decor at Springfield Mercantile
  • Unique handmade items at Sunset by Freeman Home
  • Special sales at Chabom Teas and Spices
  • Clothes and miscellaneous thrifty finds at the GLO Center
