A story published Feb. 22 by a local news outlet has the Queen City in a tizzy: Trader Joe's is coming!

Unfortunately, it's not true.

The Hauxeda, in an email exchange with Trader Joe's public relations manager Nakia Rohde, confirmed Trader Joe's is building a new store in Springfield...Virginia.

The story was spurred by rumors swirling in a Facebook group that the grocery store chain was working with a developer to find a location in Springfield, Missouri.

“When corresponding with that reporter, unfortunately, neither of us referenced a state,” Rohde said in an email to Daily Citizen business reporter Ryan Collins. “Apologies for the unclear communication.”
