Irene Casey Glenn Climer left this worldly earth to enter her heavenly home on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

She was the firstborn to George Dewey and Olive Mae (Bell) Casey on January 5, 1925, on their rural family farm in the Bell City community south of Dadeville, MO.

Irene attended the one-room Carlock School and graduated from Dadeville High School in 1942. She and James Glenn were married in 1943, and they had one daughter, Cathy. Irene attended and graduated from Bluebonnet Cosmetology School. Her first job as a hairdresser, which started at 30-year career, was at Heer's Department Store on the Square in Springfield. She then began working at Irene's Beauty Shop in Springfield before having her own Irene's Beauty Shop in Everton, MO.

In 1975, Irene was introduced to a charming man named Bert Climer, who swept her off her feet, and after a brief courtship, they were married. They shared 25 wonderful years together before Bert's passing in 2000.

She loved her grand and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She loved playing Aggravation and the golf card game and could also hit some hoops and throw a ball with them. Her love for beautiful fabric is evident in all the quilts she made.

Irene was saved and baptized at an early age. She was extremely active at Macedonia Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and prepared Wednesday night and Thanksgiving dinners, including her homemade dinner rolls. Irene was active in the Sew & Sew quilting group at Macedonia Church, making many award-winning
quilts for the Missouri Baptist Children's Home Berry Festival. She was a proud member of the Wild Bunch, a group of Macedonia ladies that met faithfully, monthly, for years, to eat at one of many local restaurants.

She is also preceded in death by her brothers, James Marvin and wife Shirley, and William Roy (Bill) and Clarence Curtis (Duke).

Irene is survived by her daughter, Cathy and husband, Richard Jones of Everton, MO; Grandchildren, Erol and Paula Odabasi and their children, Siyana and Rowan of Flower Mound, TX; Alan and Mindi Odabasi and their daughter, Lucy of Humble, TX; Step-grandsons Ty & Lance Climer and families; loving nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Shirley Garrison and Karen Casey; and tons of cousins and special friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 3110 West Sunshine Street, Springfield, MO 65807, at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery, 5234 State Hwy EE, Springfield, MO.
