Springfield Saint Patrick's Day Parade

This classic Springfield event returns for its 41st parade,  under the management of the Downtown Springfield Association.

The Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade returns to C-Street and Downtown, presented by Alamo Drafthouse, on March 16, 2024 at 2 p.m.!

Springfield Saint Patrick's Day Parade will march from C-Street to Downtown

SPRINGFIELD, MO — The Springfield Saint Patrick’s Day Parade returns to C-Street and Downtown Springfield for it's 41st parade, presented by Alamo Drafthouse (https://drafthouse.com/springfield?mc_cid=54bbe8f169&mc_eid=UNIQID) , on March 16, 2024 at 2 p.m.!

The 2024 Springfield Saint Patrick's Day Parade will begin on C-Street at 2 p.m. From there, the celebration will make its way to Park Central Square and disband at Walnut street. Spectators can expect shenanigan's in every shade of green, including appearances from the Princesses of the 417, Ozark Mountain Parrot Heads and 417 Pedal Tours.

The parade will be led by this year's Grand Marshal Larry Askren, local artist and volunteer extraordinaire. Larry is a pillar of the Springfield community, serving as the go-to guy for The Downtown Springfield Association, Springfield Sculpture Walk and many more local nonprofits.

In addition to the parade, there will be a beer garden on Park Central Square from noon to 6 p.m. You can grab a pint and enjoy live music from Queen City Shout (https://www.queencityshout.com/?mc_cid=54bbe8f169&mc_eid=UNIQID) artists Devlin Pierce (noon-1 p.m.), Part Time Travelers (1:30-2:30 p.m.) and Eddie Gumucio & The Electrics (4-6 p.m.). Parade goers can also enjoy treats from Tinga Tacos, Wonky Waffle, Chop Shop Burger and Fizz Sips and Sweets on the square. Following the parade, winners of Best Decorated Auto, Best Contraption on Wheels, Best Irish Group, Best Musical Entry and Judge's Choice will be announced from the Park Central Square stage, sponsored by Phelps County Bank (https://www.mypcb.com/?mc_cid=54bbe8f169&mc_eid=UNIQID) .

Preceding the parade will be the Zoomin Groomin (https://www.zoomingroomin.com/location/mobile-pet-grooming-springfield-missouri/?mc_cid=54bbe8f169&mc_eid=UNIQID) Irish Pet Contest will parade well-dressed pets around Park Central Square. Participants are invited to dress up their pets in any fun St. Patrick's day themed outfit for a chance to be voted Best Dressed Pet by the public! Registration will be open from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and the pets will parade around at 1 p.m.

Applications to be in the parade or volunteer are open and available at itsalldowntown.com/stpatricksparade. Applications will remain open until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15. No entries will be accepted the day of the parade. It is $25 for a non-commercial entry, $50 for a commercial entry and $75 for an over-sized entry. All entry fees go to cover the cost of putting on the parade.
