Joeseph Mauldin, 42, of Fair Grove, died after a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 65 south of Fair Grove on Sunday, March 10.

While traveling northbound “at a high rate of speed too fast for conditions” on a Yamaha motorcycle, Mauldin reportedly crossed the median and collided with a 2008 Pontiac Vibe at about 6:15 p.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol traffic crash report.

Mauldin was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield where he was pronounced dead.

The driver and an occupant of the Pontiac, both residents of Buffalo, Missouri, were transported to Cox Medical Center South for treatment of minor injuries.

This is the 11th fatality in Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D — which encompasses 17 counties in southwest Missouri — for 2024.
