A Nixa man was charged Tuesday with involuntary manslaughter in connection to the Feb. 20 death of a Springfield man who was allegedly assaulted in the parking lot at Rumors Cabaret, a strip club at 1750 S. Glenstone Ave., Springfield.
Jasmin Marquis Hopkins, 32, of Nixa, allegedly assaulted Jeffrey K. Brent, of Springfield, 37, at about 1:23 a.m. Jan. 30, according to police.
Springfield police officers were dispatched to the Rumors parking lot and found an injured Brent there.
Brent was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He died Feb. 20.
Hopkins is in the Greene County jail on a $25,000 bond.
First-degree involuntary manslaughter is a Class C felony. It is defined as recklessly causing the death of another person.
