Good Day Farm has repurposed a once-popular bank on East Sunshine to create Springfield's newest marijuana dispensary.

The new store, located at 1510 E. Sunshine St., officially opened its doors on March 13, with a grand opening celebration about a week later, Amy Dailey, vice president of marketing, said in an email to the Hauxeda. The dispensary is a relocation from the previous retail store located at 1868 S. Glenstone Ave.

The company kept all of the original architecture of the former branch of Guaranty Bank, incorporating features like high ceilings, natural lighting, and beautiful stone and woodwork into the new design. The dispensary remodeled the existing drive-thru to give customers another service option.

“The building was a beautiful old bank, and it was important for us to keep a lot of those nuances,” Dailey said. “We took the existing structure and added our touches to make it Good Day Farm. The drive-thru was very important to us to help expedite our patient and customer experiences.”

The Flower Tower and other features

Good Day Farm is one of the fastest growing cannabis companies in Missouri, with more than 20 dispensary locations across the Show-Me state, according to the company website. Good Day Farm operates three Springfield dispensaries. The company also has locations in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

There's a few stand-out features of the new digs worth mentioning. There's what Good Day Farm dubs the “Flower Tower.” It's a tiered, circular display with 26 strains of cannabis flower.

A nug of each strain is placed in a display jar so customers can see the details themselves. Coupling with the tower are “sniffer jars” of each of the strains, so the customer can smell each individually, said General Manager Zach Treacy. The Flower Tower gets changed out every couple of weeks, so there is always fresh inventory for customers.

There's also a standalone Cookies Cannabis display wall, full of cannabis flower, pre-rolls and merchandise, like rolling trays and backpacks. San Francisco-based Cookies Cannabis, which is a popular international cannabis company, has a partnership with Good Day Farm.

Good Day Farm is open Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m-10 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

Good Day Farm declined to disclose a total financial investment for the new location. The company also declined to disclose if it was leasing the new location or if it purchased the building, citing safety concerns associated with disclosing that information.

The building is owned by 1510 East Sunshine LLC, according to Greene County Assessor's Office records. The building had a total apprased value of $602,400. The last sale date was November 17, 2022.

1510 East Sunshine LLC is registered to an agent, AT, Inc., according to Missouri Secretary of State records. According to 1510 East Sunshine LLC's articles of organization, William R. Mullen is listed as the the organizer. Mullen is general counsel at Good Day Farm, according to his LinkedIn profile.

With the drive-thru, Good Day Farm has multiple shopping experiences available to customers. Along with traditional budtenders, the new store will also employ state-of-the-art kiosks to better the shopping experience, Dailey said.

Good Day Farm has plenty in store for 2024.

“This is one of many new facelifts to come to Good Day Farm in the coming months,” Dailey said in the email. “At Good Day Farm, we are committed to GOOD People, GOOD Cannabis and GOOD Days.”
