St. Louis Cardinals legendary pitcher Adam Wainwright is taking his country music tour on the road, and he plans to hit Hammons Field in May.

Wainwright will take the field on May 31, according to an April 5 Springfield Cardinals press release. The event will be the first-ever standalone concert at Hammons Field and expected to be the largest non-baseball event in the venue's history.

After throwing his last pitch in 2023, Wainwright launched a new career as a country music artist. His first full-length album, ‘Hey Y'all,' was released May 5 and he recently appeared on the Grand Ole Opry, according to the release.

The stage will be set up near second base, with on-field seating available, according to the release. The concert will start at 7:05 p.m. with an opening act to be announced at a later date. Gates will open at 6:05 p.m.

General public ticket sales will begin April 12 at 11 a.m., starting at $25.50. Pre-sale tickets are available for RED access members starting April 10 at 10 a.m., according to the release. There will be seats and standing-room-only tickets for the infield, options in the seating bowl and on-field VIP tables.

The concert is brought by the Springfield Cardinals, the City of Springfield and the Hatch Foundation, according to the release.

“Hatch Foundation and the City of Springfield are excited to partner to bring outdoor concerts to Hammons Field, the newest community-owned asset,” Springfield Cardinals Vice President and General Manager Dan Reiter wrote in the release. “Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be a part of the fun an excitement of our historic first standalone stadium concert!”
