An Ash Grove man was struck and killed by a train on Monday morning at a BNSF railroad crossing in Ash Grove.

The Ash Grove Police Department and Fire Protection District responded to a report of a person lying along the railroad track. Shane Roudybush, 39, was found deceased by officers near the Calhoun Street crossing, according to a news release from Ash Grove Police. 

Though ongoing, the investigation indicates that Roudybush was standing or walking along the track when he was struck and killed by the train, according to police.

Train traffic has resumed on the tracks.
