The body of a 6-year-old Hartville boy missing since mid-February was found over the weekend in Taney County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the victim was located by a boat operator Saturday night on Beaver Creek, west of Slough Hollow Road.

The child had fallen into the water on Feb. 19.

The body was recovered by a state trooper and released to the Taney County Coroner.

The child was not identified in the report. A MSHP spokesperson told KY3 that next of kin had been notified. KY3 also reported that crews began searching for the child along the banks of Bull Shoals Lake around three weeks ago. The search was focused on Slough Hollow Road, just south of Kissee Mills.
