A Bolivar man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to the shooting of a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper.
Justin Jackman pleaded guilty to charges of armed criminal action, assault, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of a firearm.
In Dec. 2021 in south Springfield, Jackman confessed to shooting Trooper Colton Beck with a sawed-off shotgun after fleeing from the trooper, according to court documents. Beck was transported to the hospital with serious head injuries.
Greene County Presiding Judge Jerry Harmison accepted Jackman's plea and handed down the sentence Nov. 17.
