A suspect has been flagging down female drivers, then following them into parking lots to tell them they have a flat tire. None of the victims had a flat tire and the Springfield Police Department is asking for your help in identifying both the suspect and the vehicle involved.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-20s to 30s, with brown or reddish hair and a beard. He is believed to be 5-foot-8 to 6-foot-2, with a muscular build. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a four-door red sedan with a sunroof. It is possibly a 2014 Chevrolet Cruz.

On more than one occasion, the suspect has approached the female drivers with a tire gauge and asked the driver to exit the vehicle so he can show them the flat tire. Past incidents occurred during daylight hours March 16-April 3. Anyone who has experienced a similar encounter is encouraged to call the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 to file a report.
