A Springfield Public Schools bus has crashed into a tree on Holland Avenue and University Street, according to several reports from bystanders.
A red Ford pickup truck was southbound on Holland and ran a stop sign, according to Springfield Police spokesperson Cora Scott. The bus then struck a tree.
A Mercy ambulance was on the scene. The bus driver and the attendant are reporting injuries and are being examined, according to SPS spokesperson Stephen Hall. Scott added that they sustained minor injuries and are being transported to the hospital, along with the driver of the truck. One child on the bus sustained minor injuries, Scott said.
The school bus involved was #427, heading to Jarrett Middle School. There were five students on the bus, and all families were notified of the crash.

The crash reportedly occurred at 8:43 a.m., according to the Transportation Management Center of Springfield.
