 A 32-year-old woman was shot and killed Monday night, Nov. 13, in west Springfield.

Springfield police responded at 8:16 p.m. to a report of a person shot at a house at 4231 W. La Siesta Place.

Officers found Lacey Nix on the ground, suffering with a gunshot wound. Medics were called and performed lifesaving efforts, but Nix died at the scene.

The person police officers believe allegedly shot Nix has been questioned by detectives, but no arrest had been made as of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Detectives continue to investigate Nix's death, and they ask anyone with information to call Springfield police at 417-864-1810. To make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers, use 417-869-TIPS (8477) or go online to p3tips.com.

Once the investigation is complete, the case will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office. Attorneys will review the information and decide whether or not to file any criminal charges.

This is Springfield’s 16th homicide investigation in 2023, according to the Springfield Police Department.
