The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is still offering free, drive-through testing for COVID-19, Influenza A and B, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in Springfield. What’s changing is the day of the week that testing is available.
Weekly testing opportunities will be offered Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., starting April 5. The testing is done at the Teamsters Hall, 1850 E. Division St.
No appointment is necessary and those in need of testing do not have to be a resident of Greene County. Test results will be shared by phone or email the day after testing. For more information about getting test results, call 417-362-6398.
“Due to the similarities in symptoms, the best way to know for sure what you have is by getting tested,” the Springfield-Greene County Health Department said in a press release. “While many recover on their own with these viruses, there are still severe cases which lead to hospitalization and sometimes death.”
The Health Department encourages the public to practice good hygiene, including:
- Washing your hands
- Covering your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing
- Staying home when sick
- Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu
