Fundraising reports in the race for Springfield Board of Education push the total amount raised by the seven candidates alone to more than $200,000 with 40 days to go to the April 2 election.
Seven candidates are running for three open seatts on the board. Between them, they have raised a total of $205,353.55.
The Missouri Ethics Commission requires candidates and political action committees to file regular reports during election cycles. The most recent deadline was a 40-day before election report, due Thursday, Feb. 22.
Danielle Kincaid reported $4,673.01 in donations and $1,369.54 in expenses and has $15,205.53 on hand.
Of her donations, $1,000 came from Logan and David Aguirre of Springfield, and $520.87 was from Tom Prater, of Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center.
Expenses include $1,000 to Strong Ozarks for consulting services and $192 to Revel Advertising for website renewal. Kincaid reported two reimbursements of $500 each to LLCs that were not registered with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Kincaid has raised $17,117.87 and spent $9,365.65 over the election cycle, and has no indebtedness.
Chad Rollins reported $8,980.30 in donations and expenses of $8,515.23, and has $2,995.69 on hand.
Of his donations, $2,500 was an in-kind donation from Andrew Jared of Jared Outdoor Advertising. Among Rollins' cash donations, he received a $5,000 donation from Loren Cook, president of air handling manufacturer Loren Cook Company, and $500 from Greene County Collector Allen Icet.
Expenses include $3,400 paid to Sign Rocket and $3,334.39 to Signs on the Cheap for yard signs, as well as a $324 reimbursement for use of personal funds to pay Wix LTD for website support.
Rollins has raised $12,305.30 and spent $8,924.40 over the election cycle, and has no indebtedness.
Susan Provance reported $13,572.92 in donations and $92.95 in expenses, with $11,792.77 on hand.
Provance reported an in-kind donation of $1,687.20 from former Drury University baseball coach Mark Stratton of Springfield, for a fundraising event held on Feb. 12 at Ocean Zen Restaurant. $7,975 of her cash donations were received during that event. In total, 89 donors gave contributions ranging from $25 to $500.
This is the first fundraising report filed by Provance’s fundraising campaign this election cycle. She has raised $13,572.92 in donations and $92.95 in expenses and reports no indebtedness.
Scott Crise reported $24,350 in cash donations and $883.64 in expenses, with $31,467 on hand.
He received donations of $5,000 each from Jeff Huchens, president of Hutches Industries, as well as retired Springfield residents Nancy White and Mike White. Crise also received $1,500 from John (Jack) Stack, president of SRC Holdings Corporation; $250 from Missouri State University President Clif Smart and wife, Gail; and $200 from Ozarks Technical Community College Chancellor Hal Higdon. Thirty-nine other donors gave amounts ranging from $50 to $500.
A refund of $1,000 was given to him by Skyline Strategies. The firm was retained for $2,000, but gave the refund because the firm accepted a larger client and could not complete contracted work, according to the report. Other expenses include $475.64 to Office Depot for copies and $408 to the United States Postal Services for mailing.
Crise has raised $33,875 and spent $2,883.64 over the election cycle, and has indebtedness of $9,000.64.
Kyler Sherman-Wilkins reported $12,781.65 in donations and $2028.30 in expenses, with $8.876.32 on hand.
Of his donations, $4,836 were in-kind — $4,536 from MSU associate professor Jocelyn Millana for unspecified services and $300 from Q Enoteca for event organization. A $1,000 donation was given by Emily Hahn of Springfield, and 29 other donors gave amounts between $100 and $500.
Expenses include $500 to Zo’s Creative Co. for apparel, $385 to Queen City Strategic for campaign consultation and $249.06 to the Copy Shoppe Printing and Graphics for publications.
Sherman-Wilkins has raised $15,882.89 and spent 2,171.57 over the election cycle, and has no indebtedness.
Landon McCarter reported $36,840 in donations and $9,559.57 in expenses, and has $23,123.82 on hand.
Of his donations, $7,500 was an in-kind donation from Jared Outdoor, LLC, for billboard advertising. McCarter received cash donations of $5,000 from Loren Cook, president of air handling manufacturer Loren Cook Company; $3,000 from Tom Fowler of State Bank; $2,000 from Kent Greve of Star Wholesale Supply; $1,500 from Daniel Scott of Ozark; $1,250 from Travis Comfort of Rick’s Auto; $1,250 from Todd Wilson of Springfield; $1,250 from Robert Wilson of Springfield; $1,000 from Erik Hansen of Kraken Commerce; $1,000 from Robert Byrne, of RK Byrne LLC; $1,000 from James Whitley of Vero Beach, Florida; and $1,000 from Greg Stancer of Ozark. Twenty-six other donors gave amounts between $150 and $500 to the McCarter campaign.
Expenses include $7,797 to Signrocket for campaign signs and $778 to Anedot for online fundraising tools.
McCarter has raised $40,840 and spent $10,216.19 over the election cycle, and has no indebtedness.
Maryam Mohammadkhani reported $37,809.57 in donations and $28,584.30 in expenses, and has $42,167.57 on hand.
She received in-kind donations of $7,500 from Jared Outdoor, LLC, for billboard advertising, and $1,031.63 from Kaffaele Pennella and $571.94 from personal funds.
Cash donations include $5,000 from Loren Cook, president of air handling manufacturer Loren Cook Company; $2,500 from attorney William Scharf of Clayton, Missouri; $1,500 from Amy Hiles of Kansas City; $1,500 from Thomas Fowler of State Bank; $1,500 from Linda Fowler of Springfield; $1,000 from Will Cox of Solera Energy; $1,000 from Craig Fishel of Springfield; $1,000 from Sedighe Mokarram of Hermosa Beach, California; $1,000 from Ryan MacDonald of Solera Energy; $1,000 from Ed O'Toole of Springfield; $1,000 from Teresa Davis of Rogersville; $1,000 from Robert Shaw of CoxHealth; and $1,000 from William Duncan of CoxHealth. Thirty-one other people gave amounts ranging from $50 to $500.
Expenses include $13,046.14 to Victory Enterprises for campaign support including website and signs, and $6,290 to Signrocket for campaign signs.
