The Springfield Police Department is reducing the hours of operation for the police headquarters lobby and telephone reporting access because of staffing issues. The changes are effective March 14.

“With fewer non-sworn personnel available, providing lobby and phone service for extended hours and days of the week is no longer feasible,” an SPD press release said.

The front lobby, at 321 East Chestnut Expressway, will be available to the public from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The telephone reporting number, 417-864-1810, will be available the same hours.

Online reporting is available for:

  • Forgery
  • Fraudulent use of a credit device
  • Graffiti
  • Harassment
  • Identity theft
  • Lost property
  • Past disturbance
  • Stealing
  • Stealing from a vehicle
  • Vandalism
  • Supplement to filed reports

Reports may be filed online by visiting springfieldmo.gov/spd and searching “file a report.” For emergencies or immediate assistance, please call 911.
