As of March 1, Springfield-Greene County Health is offering an incentive to anyone getting a COVID-19 vaccine or booster shot. In a press release issued by Springfield-Greene County Health, upon receiving the shot, recipients will receive a gift card valued at $50 provided they show a photo ID. An ID is not required to get a vaccination.
This incentive was originally available to people who received their first or second dose and first booster shot.
Gift cards are only available while supplies last as this is likely the last chance for people to obtain a gift card while getting vaccinated.
COVID numbers in Green County currently remain low. According to the City’s website, the daily average shows cases at less than 22 per day as of February 24. However, more than 30 people remain hospitalized throughout the county with five being in critical care. COVID numbers are updated weekly on Fridays on the city’s website.
Over 50 percent of the population residing in Greene County have received an initial dosage of a COVID vaccine.
“The Health Department remains committed to ensuring that everyone in the community has access to these lifesaving vaccinations,” the release states.
The Westside Public Health Center located at 660 S. Scenic Ave, takes walk-ins on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 4 pm. However, the clinic will be closed this Friday, March 3.
