Starting Aug. 15 the Springfield-Greene County Health Department will have a new location for COVID-19 testing.

The new location will be the department’s Bengsch Building at 227 E. Chestnut Expressway. Testing had been held at the Westside Public Health Center since the spring.

Members of the public can still make COVID-19 testing appointments at COVIDTesting417.com. Hours of operation for testing will remain the same, from 8-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Testing will be by appointment only.

When arriving to be tested, please use the main entrance of the Health Department on the north side of the building. Once inside, follow the marked signage and pathway to the testing room. Masking will be required when coming to be tested.

COVID-19 tests are administered via throat swab, and results are made available within 24-72 hours.

In addition to testing, the Health Department also encourages individuals to get vaccinated. Vaccinations will continue being offered at the Westside Public Health Center (660 S. Scenic) and at pop-up clinics around the community. For vaccination opportunities, visit vaccine417.com or call the COVID-19 call center at 417-874-1211. Those receiving their primary doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, or a first booster are eligible for a $50 gift card while supplies last.
