Silver Dollar City will host a grand opening for the all-new Fire In The Hole on March 30, according to a company press release.

The record-breaking, indoor family roller coaster will make a ceremonial trip down its tracks following a ribbon cutting, according to the release.

The new ride is almost a decade in the making and carries on the story of the night when the Baldknobbers set fire to the Ozark mining town, the release said. It took heroic citizens to fight the flames to save the city.

The $30-million coaster marks the park's largest investment to date for a single attraction, according to the release. The ride is housed in a five-story, climate-controlled building. It features 14 immersive scenes with state-of-the-art technology. Riders will travel at eight feet per second down the 1,512-foot track. The ride includes three drops and a final water splashdown

The 2024 season at Silver Dollar City begins on March 9, according to the release.
