Editor's note: This story was updated at 8 p.m. April 11 to include the name of the warden who was assaulted.

An inmate at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield was indicted by a federal grand jury April 11 for assaulting the warden.

Inmate Omar Romero-Morales, 36, allegedly punched Warden Eric Williams in the face, according to a press release and information from the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Missouri.

The press release did not mention any of the details of the alleged assault.
