A motorcyclist died in a collision with another vehicle near the intersection of Chestnut Expressway and Glenstone Avenue on the afternoon of Thursday, March 30, according to Springfield police.
Officers responded at 3:08 p.m. to what is now Springfield’s 10th traffic fatality of 2023. Deverin King, 18 of Springfield, was traveling south on Glenstone Avenue on a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle when King struck a 2004 Ford Explorer, driven by Villalobos Chico, 50, of Springfield, who was crossing the southbound lane from 625 N. Glenstone.
King was pronounced dead on scene and the family was notified.
Circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
