Ribbon-cutting events for York Elementary and Jarrett Middle schools have been announced by Springfield Public Schools.

The original York Elementary was built in 1911. The ceremony for the new York Elementary School building will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 27 at 2100 W. Nichols St.  

The original Jarrett Middle School, 840 S Jefferson Ave., last year celebrated 100 years of educating students. The ceremony for the new Jarrett Middle School will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 3 at the new location of 906 W. Portland St.
