It's Sunday, readers, and boy do I have things for you to read today. First up, our latest in-depth article also happens to be our most-read for the week. I love it when that happens! Reporter Jackie Rehwald told the tale of a house-flipping project in Grant Beach that's getting unlikely buyers into Springfield homes.

Another popular one this week came from reporter Rance Burger, who says Mike Lindell's controversial event brought in some big bucks to the region.

Our columnist Steve Pokin is on a long vacation but will be back on Monday. In the meantime, I've got two special columns for you. The first is one of Pokin's most-read columns of all time — an entertaining update on the mysterious Pensmore Mansion. The second is one of the earliest columns Pokin penned for the Daily Citizen. It published on a temporary site before we officially launched, therefore few of you got to read it. It's about a jeweler on Glenstone who has a striking history.

From our regular Sunday writers, we have:

  • An opinion piece from David Burton, in which he tells us the most neighborly news of all: Springfield has a tool library residents can share!
  • In sports, Lyndal Scranton tells us about Corey Riggs, the guy filling in for Art Hains on the MSU football broadcasts while Hains battles a serious health situation.
  • And in our featured obituary this week, Mike O'Brien tells the story of Houston Taylor, a former MSU professor with some serious chutzpah. As O'Brien put it, “The surest way to get Houston Taylor to do something was to tell him he didn't have the ability to do it.”

Read on, Springfield.
