I gotta tell you, Springfield, your craving for chicken strips simply astounds me sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, I like some tenders and fries just as much as any red-blooded American should, but I didn’t think a story about chicken would top the charts here on SGFCitizen.com. I was wrong. Jack McGee’s piece about Huey Magoo’s, home to the alleged “best 3 percent of the chicken,” was our most-read story of the week. We’ll see how Huey Magoo’s clucks up in the honey mustard-saturated town of Springfield.

Speaking of flocking, apparel retailer Culture Flock is leaving Galloway Village and headed for Pickwick Place, where the 10-year-old studio and store will roost at the former Culture Counter. The two businesses are not related. Boy George and the Culture Club were unavailable for comments for McGee’s story, but our readers’ interest in this move seemed to be available in spades.

All of this chart-topping business news is enough to work up a thirst, and that’s why Juliana Goodwin breaks down the latest trends in Springfield’s robust craft beer scene. The sun is shining, birds are singing, patios are open and cold brews are on tap. Be in the know with your tap-tender and read up on the beer offerings before you go.

Whether you’re waiting in line for chicken, strolling along Cherry Street or hanging out on your favorite patio, take the Hauxeda’s podcast with you. Bestselling author Nancy Allen is the featured guest on In Our Town with Tom Carlson, and this time, Allen tells her own story of a life full of twists and turns.
