Clyde Bruner, age 74, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away April 15, 2024, from an accident at his home. Clyde was born to Montie C. Bruner and Helen McDade Bruner at their home on March 10, 1950, in Brown Branch, Missouri, located in Douglas County. Clyde was united in marriage to Diane Marie Clark at Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island, Illinois on June 9, 1973. The couple were blessed with three children: Christine I. Hohenshell (John) of Olathe, Kansas; C. David Bruner (Christy) of Fair Grove, Missouri; and Daniel S. Bruner (Kimberley) of Irving, Texas.

Clyde was employed as a building maintenance man where he did carpenter work, HVAC work, and was lovingly referred to as “Slidin’ Clyde”. He enjoyed 40 years of service at the General Council of the Assemblies of God.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Jean Bruner Morrison, John Bruner, Geneieve Bruner, Chauncey Bruner White, Willie Bruner, Donald Bruner and Clinton Bruner. He is survived by his siblings: Carl Bruner, Bob Bruner, and Hazel Bruner Moerschel. Clyde is also survived by nine grandchildren: Avanlea Kilgore, Savannah Amri Kilgore, Katelyn Bruner, Brock Bruner, MaKayla Bruner, twins Keira and MaKenna Bruner, Isabel Bruner and Haven Bruner. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren: Arianna, Quest, Laiken, Adventure, and Unity.

A visitation for Clyde will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., at Berean Baptist Church, located at 507 E. Norton Road in Springfield. A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3600 N. National in Springfield. There will be a formal procession from the church to the cemetery.

Daniel S. Bruner will be officiating the Celebration of Life. Brother Fred Reamsnider will lead the graveside service. Pallbearers include C. David Bruner, Daniel S. Bruner, Brock Bruner, Bob Bruner, Jerry Ward, Dennis Schiess, Andy Martin and Larry Greene.
