A staff member at Parkview High School was injured as a result of a fight during lunch on Jan. 26.

Springfield Public Schools officials responded after a fight broke out Friday between multiple students, said Stephen Hall, chief communications officer.

The staff member was cut in the process of breaking up the fight, Hall said, and their injury was minor.

“There were no weapons involved,” Hall said. “It was an accidental injury that occurred when breaking up the fight.”

In a message to parents, Parkview Principal Megan Brown said no students were injured as a result of the brawl, and all of the students involved have been detained.

The incident remains under investigation.
